We currently have 12 alpacas (8 males and 4 females) on the Fleece Fur and Feathers farm.
Most of our boys are geldings which have been given up by their previous owners
for various reasons and some were part of a university medical study on alpacas.
The personality of the alpaca has been compared to that of a cat.
They approach on their terms and are especially interested if you have food.
Most of them don't enjoy being petted, but will permit it if you're
feeding them. Alpacas do spit, but usually only at each other in competition
for food.
Alpacas are gentle animals, easy to handle and don't require an
excessive amount of upkeep.
If you'd like to arrange a visit to the meet the pacas, please email FleeceFurandFeathers@gmail.com or call 817.337.4690.
