Raw Fleece
Fresh off the animal - vegetable matter and all! A blanket from an adult Huacaya alpaca will weigh approximately 4 pounds. This is the "first cut" - $40. We have a variety of colors - black, grey, shades of brown, beige and white. This is prime fiber for spinning.
The "second cuts" are from the neck and legs of the alpaca. Some of the neck fleece will be nice enough for spinning. Leg cuts are great for felting, stuffing and other projects - $10/pound.
We also have Suri alpaca fleece available in white - $50 for both cuts from one animal.
We can also skirt and wash fleece for an additional fee.

Yarn and Roving
At this time, most processing of the raw fleece is done here on the farm. We skirt, pick, wash, comb and card by hand.
Roving for spinning or felting can be made from any of our animals. We can also blend fleece to create variations in colors for your project. We can make roving to order, but we do keep a variety of colors on hand.
Roving is created on a Patrick Green Fancicard and each batch is between 3/4 and 1 full ounce. Price is $4/ounce. We pride ourselves on doing a thorough cleaning job so you'll find very little vegetable matter in your fiber.
The roving pictured was made from the raw fleece above and comes off our our rose-gray boy, Rusty.

All yarn is hand-spun on a Majacraft Rose wheel. Prices range from .16/yard for thin or normal weight yarn to .20/yard for a bulky yarn. Yarn can be made to order.
The yarn pictured is from Rusty and created from the raw fleece and roving pictured above. Alpaca yarn makes items that drape beautifully, are very warm and luxuriously soft. It has little elasticity and memory, so not recommended for items like sweaters that must hold shape. For scarfs, shawls and hats, it has no equal!

Being a dog lover as well as a handspinner, Barb can create a lasting keepsake of a beloved companion animal. You can keep the yarn as a remembrance, or use it to knit or crochet.

Other Products
All alpaca fleece doesn't qualify for spinning, so we try and find other creative uses for the leftovers. In the spring, nesting balls for the birds are popular. From scraps, we make dryer balls to help wick away moisture and speed drying time. In the shop, we also sell alpaca socks, gloves, hand-poured candles, shampoo bars and Freshies. Come visit and see what's available.

We do our best to keep prices reasonable for everyone. Current price per dozen is $5.00.
ATTENTION TEACHERS: In the spring, we have fertilized eggs available for classroom hatching.
